HCPC requirements to work as radiographer in the UK & NHS

Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration is requirements to work as radiographer in the UK & NHS.

The title Radiographer is a protected title in the UK as is Diagnostic Radiographer and Therapeutic Radiographer.

There are currently over 30,000 radiographer registrants with the HCPC in the UK.

The Society & College of Radiographers (SOR) has a separate role independent of the HCPC which includes include promoting the profession, representing members, curriculum frameworks, post registration education and training and continuing professional development across England, Scotland, the UK and North Ireland. 

 The following dates are current renewal dates for Radiographers with or seeking HCPC registration:

Current renewal start date: 01 March 2016
Current renewal end date: 28 February 2018
Next renewal start date: 01 March 2018
Next renewal end date: 28 February 2020
